The Salon Lash Care Guide
For years I gave every client in my lash and brow salons the same aftercare talk. These are the rules that made the biggest difference.

If you wear extensions
Keep them dry for the first 24 hours
The adhesive is still setting. Skip steamy showers, saunas and swimming for a day, or as long as your lash artist tells you.
Cleanse them every day
Clean lashes last longer. Makeup, oil and skin build-up weaken the bond. A daily cleanse is the single biggest thing you can do.
No oil near your lashes
Oil-based removers and rich eye creams soften the adhesive. Warm water and a lash-safe cloth, or an oil-free lash cleanser, is all you need.
Wipe down, never rub
Close your eyes, hold the warm cloth over them for a few seconds, then wipe gently downward in the direction your lashes grow.
Brush them every morning
A clean spoolie keeps them fanned out and stops twists and crossovers before they start.
Sleep on your back, or on silk
Pillow friction is the number one reason extensions go sideways and shed early.
Don’t pick. Book your infill.
Picking pulls out your natural lash with it. An infill every two to three weeks keeps them full.
For your natural lashes and brows
Take mascara off every single night
Sleeping in it dries lashes out and makes them brittle. Warm water and your cloth will take it off.
Serum goes on clean, dry skin
One thin stroke at the base of your upper lashes each night, like liquid liner. Brush a little through your brows too.
Give it eight weeks
Lashes grow in cycles, so consistency beats quantity. Extra coats don’t speed anything up. Take a photo on night one.
General care advice from the salon, not medical advice. If anything irritates, stop and see your lash artist or doctor.
